This List

My goal with this list is to show the different ways I've been learning recently. Here is where I'll link the books I've been checking out recently, and the ones I've already went through. I'll also post some recent articles, podcasts and tutorials I've been checking out that are really worthwhile. Feel free to ask me more about them as I won't talk too much about everything I'm looking at these days.

Books

Currently Reading:
  • 3D Math Primer for Graphics and Game Development by Fletcher Dunn and Ian Panberry - Really good book on mathematics and it's practical application in Game development.
  • Game Programming Patterns by Robert Nystrom - Talks about really useful patterns for game development. Some of which come from Design Patterns: Elements of Reusable Object Oriented Software and are re-thought for their context in game development, others are some he has brought new to the table, all really solid material.

Others

Podcasts:
  • The Debug Log - A podcast exploring game development topics in unity and idfferent ways of approaching problems in game development. Really solid listen, even for someone just starting out.
Tutorials:
  • Udemy: The Unreal Engine Developer Course hosted by Ben Tristem. Solid way for someone who is a complete beginner at Unreal Engine 4 to get started. It does tend to teach things a little out of order or later than some things should be introduced, but it's not too often to really make the course suffer. Catch it on one of the almost monthly 90% off deals they have on the site.
